Review of the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) 2017
More than 25,000 participants from over 100 countries took the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the fields of radiology and medical imaging at this year's European Congress of Radiology. The ECR is thus one of the most important medical congresses worldwide. Every year, international specialists from all fields of medical imaging meet here in order to share their expert knowledge of a broad range of subjects and to present their latest research findings.
The owner of our practice, Philip G. Petry, participated in this major event, which took place in Vienna, and was impressed by the wide variety of specialist presentations, symposia, and educational sessions: "It is always a great experience to witness at the European Congress of Radiology the impressively rapid developments in the field of radiology and to discuss present trends and medical progress in a lively exchange with peers." Of course, these new insights will also have some influence on our day-to-day work in our radiological practice in Heidelberg.
Paediatric radiologist takes care of our youngest patients
Sometimes even children need to be examined using medical imaging in case of certain diseases and/or injuries. Since children require completely different examination methods - both physiologically and psychologically - than adult patients, from now on, the experienced paediatric radiologist PD Dr. Wiltrud K. Rohrschneider M.D. will carry out paediatric examinations using MRI and ultrasound.
As a paediatric radiologist, PD Dr. Rohrschneider M.D. is specialised in the concerns of children. She makes a lot of time for our youngest patients and empathetically and patiently carries out the necessary examinations. In doing so, she is mindful of involving the parents or any other caregiver and of giving in-depth explanations of all examination results.
Moreover, PD Dr. Rohrschneider M.D. has comprehensively specialised in the field of paediatric radiology and is qualified in diagnostics of paediatric diseases and malformations. As a freelance employee at our practice, she is provided with ideal conditions for optimal examination quality.
