MRI of the prostate gland

High resolution MRI scan of the prostate gland

Today, good prostate cancer screening includes careful examination using MRI scanning.

Rectal palpation and ultrasound examinations carried out by an urologist are often not sufficient in order to detect pathological changes in the tissue. An examination using the MRI scanner can give you peace of mind. MRI is also an excellent method for locating the affected tissue in the prostate gland as precisely as possible prior to a puncture procedure.

In order to offer improved cancer screening and even more efficient methods of diagnosis, our clinic works closely with the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of tumor amongst men, and successful treatment depends heavily on an early diagnosis.
