Reliable prostate cancer screening includes careful examination using MRI scanning. Palpation and ultrasound examinations are often not sufficient in order to detect pathological changes in the tissue. An examination with the MRI scanner can provide reassurance.
In case the urologist has already detected abnormalities, magnetic resonance imaging can avoid an unpleasant biopsy, as MRI makes it possible to locate suspicious tissue very accurately.
With their particularly high resolution, our devices provide excellent images for the evaluation of the prostate tissue. The Professional Association of German Radiologists and the Qualitäts-Ring-Radiologie gGmbH (non-profit society for quality assurance in radiology) attest our practice a ‘high technical image quality’ for MRI examinations of the prostate gland.
For improved cancer screening and even more efficient methods of diagnosis, we also closely collaborate with the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of tumors amongst men, and successful treatment depends heavily on an early diagnosis.
